The Australian Fijian Rugby League (AFRL) is dedicated to the advancement of youth within Australia who have a Fijian heritage. This advancement is mostly through rugby league participation and assisting these youths reach their potential.
However, the AFRL is also very keen to develop this youth into well balanced individuals by providing them with job and educational opportunities that form the basis of their life skills for the future. The AFRL is about culture and respect for all and have had many successes since the formation of this association in 2003.
The AFRL have toured the UK in 2008 and Fiji in most subsequent years. We have provided many players to the Fiji Bati National Team and have a close association with the FNRL. The 2013 World Cup squad for Fiji Bati contains 11 players who have been involved with the AFRL.
Following humble beginnings the AFRL has now become the eminent association for emerging rugby league nations within Australia.
Petero Civoniceva is our honoured Patron who has supported our association since its inception.
Additionally, the AFRL support charities both within Australia and Fiji.
The AFRL also conducts a program called Bars to Bati which assists youth that have run afoul of the law. The aim is to visit those youths that have been incarcerated and assist them upon release to become better members of the community.
